Limicon 2024

“We find ourselves in a liminal space between worlds, entrenched in a metacrisis, and embedded in cultural systems that are inadequate for regenerative future civilization.

We are people living the question: How do we become the humans we need to be, both individually and collectively, to be in service to hospicing the old systems and midwifing the new systems that are emerging?

Part we-space, part choose your own adventure, part field-nurturing experiment, Limicon 2024 is an online container open from March 6th - April 3rd. Experience a unique process designed to help you navigate these uncertain times and discover new ways of being.

AGI Research

The frameworks being used to model Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) are primarily interdisciplinary in nature. This means that people use knowledge informed by only a handful of fields. There has not yet been an attempt based on the transdisciplinary synthesis across all domains, nor has there been a synthesis across transdisciplinary, big picture, unification frameworks themselves.

Metamodernism: Or, the Cultural Logic of Cultural Logics

“What is metamodernism? Whether you're new to the topic and looking for a beginner's primer, or a scholar already well-versed in the current discourse, this book will prove essential reading...”

For anyone who's interested having a book you can read in a week that surveys the field of metamodernism in it's many variations and discusses what they all share in common, Brendan Graham Dempsey’s Metamodernism: Or, the Cultural Logic of Cultural Logics elegantly accomplishes this. Pretty sure this is the most comprehensive book on the topic out there.

Graduate Course on Metamodernism

In adjacent course activities, the world's hitherto most thorough course on metamodernism is being held this fall by Metamoderna, which includes ARC's co-director Dr. Daniel Gortz. It is a month-long Masterclass in metamodernism, from theory to practice, and corresponds roughly to a graduate level course. It's modalities include metamodernism as cultural theory, its philosophical and historical foundations, its economics and politics, and a workshop to create a life more in line with metamodernist values and sentiments. For a more detailed description of the entire course offering, visit the link (it's held via the platform Dandelion and in collaboration with Psychedelic Society UK)

Journal of Archdisciplinary Studies

We’re excited to launch The Journal of Archdisciplinarity Studies (JAS).

We invite both academic and independent scholars – as well as creatives expressing metamodern and archmodern sensibilities – to submit their work. We want to put the "journal" back in academic journals, promote work that would not otherwise get recognition, and serve as a literary and creative nexus point for this space as it evolves.

Foundations of Archdisciplinarity: Advancing beyond the meta

Foundations of Archdisciplinarity introduces Archdisciplinarity as the academic inquiry that treats big picture, transdisciplinary, theory of everything, unification metatheories as units of analysis for comparison and contrast. In this book, we show the evolution of human knowledge through sociocultural stages, articulate scopes and scales of theories and practices from theory to archtheory, and propose universal pattern laws called arches that persist across the most advanced, integrated frameworks in the world.
